Caring for Your Jewellery
ARIN jewellery is crafted from precious metals, natural gemstones, pearls, and carefully selected premium materials. With proper care, your jewellery can be enjoyed for many years.
Because jewellery is worn close to the body and regularly exposed to environmental factors, natural ageing and wear may occur over time. Following the care guidance below will help preserve the appearance and longevity of your piece.
DAILY CARE
Remove your jewellery before bathing, swimming, exercising, sleeping, or engaging in activities that may expose it to impact, moisture, excessive friction, or chemicals.
Chlorine, saltwater, perspiration, cosmetics, perfumes, lotions, hair products, cleaning products, and other substances may affect the appearance, finish, gemstones, pearls, and plated surfaces over time.
Apply perfume, lotion, sunscreen, cosmetics, and hair products before putting on your jewellery and allow them to dry completely before wear.
Chains, bracelets, gemstones, pearls, and delicate settings may be damaged through accidental impact, pulling, pressure, or general wear. Care should be taken during use and storage.
CLEANING AT HOME
Use the silver care cloth included with your purchase to gently polish the metal surface. This is generally suitable for sterling silver and gold-coated pieces.
For a deeper clean, mix a small amount of mild soap with lukewarm water. Clean gently using a soft cloth or soft-bristled brush, rinse carefully, and dry thoroughly with a clean soft cloth.
Do not soak pieces containing pearls, gemstones, enamel, resin, or other delicate materials.
Avoid abrasive materials, polishing compounds, ultrasonic cleaners, steam cleaners, chemical dip cleaners, or harsh cleaning agents unless specifically recommended by a qualified jewellery professional.
Damage resulting from inappropriate cleaning methods, excessive force, or unsuitable cleaning products is not considered a manufacturing defect.
STORAGE
Store each piece individually whenever possible to minimise scratching, tangling, and unnecessary wear.
The ARIN keepsake pouch or jewellery box is ideal for storage. Keep jewellery in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight, excessive humidity, heat sources, and chemicals.
Improper storage may accelerate tarnishing, oxidation, fading, plating wear, gemstone damage, pearl damage, and other forms of deterioration.
STERLING SILVER
Sterling silver naturally reacts with air, moisture, skin chemistry, cosmetics, environmental conditions, and other external factors. As a result, tarnishing and oxidation may occur over time.
Tarnishing is a normal characteristic of sterling silver ownership and does not indicate a defect in the material or workmanship.
Regular cleaning with an appropriate silver polishing cloth will help maintain the appearance of your jewellery.
18K GOLD AND GOLD-COATED PIECES
Solid 18K gold and 18K gold-coated sterling silver are durable materials but are not scratch-resistant, impact-resistant, or immune to wear.
Over time, gold-coated finishes may gradually fade or wear depending on frequency of wear, skin chemistry, environmental conditions, storage methods, moisture exposure, cosmetics, perfumes, lotions, perspiration, cleaning methods, and other factors beyond ARIN London’s control.
Gradual wear of plated finishes is a normal characteristic of plated jewellery ownership and is not considered a manufacturing defect.
To help preserve the finish, avoid abrasive surfaces, harsh chemicals, excessive moisture, and unnecessary friction.
GEMSTONES
Natural gemstones vary in hardness, durability, colour, inclusions, texture, and sensitivity.
Variations in colour, pattern, inclusions, markings, texture, transparency, shape, and appearance are natural characteristics of genuine gemstones and are not considered defects.
Some gemstones and pearls may be sensitive to heat, light, moisture, chemicals, impact, sudden temperature changes, and cleaning methods. Particular care should be taken with pearls, turquoise, opals, emeralds, and other delicate stones.
Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, steam cleaners, chemical cleaners, and harsh cleaning methods on natural gemstones unless specifically recommended by a qualified jewellery professional.
PROFESSIONAL CLEANING
Professional cleaning and inspection may help maintain the appearance and condition of fine jewellery.
